Awana on Wednesdays will resume on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with an evening session only starting at 6:00pm.
Our Wednesday night Awana meetings are a time filled with energy, fellowship and spiritual growth. Each of our children’s clubs has its own unique meeting format, but in general Awana meetings are about an hour long and feature three main segments: Game Time, Handbook Time and Council Time.
Game Time is usually comprised of exciting circle games exclusive to Awana played in the gym but table activities will replace gym time for the beginning of the year due to COVID-19 precautions. Council Time is a large-group setting primarily dedicated to Bible teaching and presentation of the gospel. Handbook Time provides small-group interaction, recitation of Scripture that kids learned during the week, friendship building and opportunities for leaders to mentor children and help them understand the Bible verses they memorize.
Awana (Wednesday evenings 6:00-7:00pm) – Level II Covid Careful… Volunteers will be provided clear shields to wear during this session. Kids will have their Awana handbooks to use on-site as well as at home. For evening session, we encourage masks to be worn while coming, going, and moving around inside the building, except while seated (with understanding that while seated, students are distanced appropriately).
Special Precautions for Awana sessions:
*If we are lacking volunteers, parents will be asked to serve 1-2x/month as volunteers in various capacities.
