(A ‘Service’ of caring of New London Evangelical Covenant Church)
We at NLCC want to challenge all of our members who are able to help run errands, pick up groceries, meds and so forth, and deliver them to folks in our communities who are at high risk of the Coronavirus. These are the ways we can help:
During a time when we cannot come to an actual “church service’’, we want to be “of service’’ to our neighbors in this season of need. Our first Sunday back together as a church fellowship, we can share testimonies of the stories of God’s working during these times. God is bigger than the Coronavirus!
People who want to be a helper, should be healthy, without symptoms of the virus (fever or cough); have not been exposed to the virus or on a cruise in the past two weeks , or be in the high-risk group (older adults & those with underlying health problems).
People needing home help: folks currently sick with symptoms of the virus (cough, fever, difficulty breathing), folks who are self -quarantined, folks who are at higher risk for severe illness from the virus (older adults, or those with underlying health problems such as: heart disease, diabetes, or lung disease).
Together we can Armour-ALL in Christ Jesus!
In His Grip,
Kevin
PS : This is a call for ALL HANDS ON DECK ! Word will get out of what we are doing this (we want that). Please ALSO let us know if you can help with those people who contact our church who need this service. If you need this service, please contact our church office at 320-354-2446.
Psalm 82:3-4 3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:10-11 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
We at NLCC want to challenge all of our members who are able to help run errands, pick up groceries, meds and so forth, and deliver them to folks in our communities who are at high risk of the Coronavirus. These are the ways we can help:
- Adopt 2 - 5 vulnerable people you can “adopt” and help out.
- Pray for their protection, health and strength for the duration of this threat.
- Offer to pick up and deliver groceries, medication and other essential items. This will enable them to remain at home, away from the threat of exposure.
- Use phone, email and texts to coordinate care and give added socialization as needed.
- Assure them you will only come to the door, leave items at the door, with only short conversation from a safe distance. We want to keep everyone safe. Use sanitizer on hands before and after deliveries.
- It will be most effective and efficient if most find your people to adopt within your natural realm of influence.
