The Great Jungle Journey
Vacation Bible School
was held on
June 3-7, 2024.
Who? A total of 131 kids attended this year’s VBS..well over 100 each night! Praise the Lord for all the seeds of truth and the gospel planted in their hearts and minds!
What? These kids sang songs, memorized scripture, made crafts, ate snacks, and played games as they traveled through river jungles, making stops at seven ports of call along the way ~ each starting with a C.
These represent seven key biblical events ~ the 7 C’s of History! Creation, corruption, catastrophe, confusion, Christ, cross and consummation.
Where and When?
All throughout our building, each night this past week from 6:00-8:30pm.
How? By God’s grace, protection and provision! VBS could never happen without the sacrificial gifts of time and energy given by over 70 youth and adults! Prayer warriors, behind the scenes support and workers, as well as those present with kids each night, MAKE IT HAPPEN!! The countless hours represented by these servants of Christ who reached out and touched the hearts and lives of the kids this week are of eternal value!
A few other notes of interest…
The VBS missions offering, which totaled $1450, was taken throughout the week to help send and support our own youth pastor’s sister and her family (husband and 3 kids) as they head as missionaries to Thailand this fall. These gifts will help with their children’s school supplies/education, housing basics, transportation, outreach/connecting in their new community, daily life expenses…everything needed to bring the love of Jesus and the gospel message to people in a land far away.
Children were given an opportunity to receive Christ and/or make a recommitment to their faith in Him. Several children responded indicating they were making a 1st time commitment to Christ or were reaffirming a previous commitment made at a younger age, securing their confidence in their place in heaven someday!
Over 250 Bible verses were memorized collectively by the kids.
500 hot supper meals were served as a gift to our volunteers and their families each night at no cost to them, as a token of our gratitude for their gifts of time this week

Who? 105 kids attended this year’s VBS! Praise the Lord for all the seeds of truth and the gospel planted in hearts and minds!
What? These kids sang songs, memorized scripture, made crafts, ate snacks, and played games all in the context of the “The Kingdom” –where they heard the important truths about… “The Two Kingdoms. . . The Belt of Truth . . . The Breastplate of Righteousness . . .Shoes of the Gospel of Peace. . . The Helmet of Salvation. . .The Shield of Faith. . .and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God!!”
Each day, kids learned about the battle that is being waged between the kingdoms of good and evil…and that our God has won the victory. As a result, we can spend eternity with Him in heaven someday, upon accepting Him as our Lord and Savior! In the meantime, we have been given the spiritual armor needed for this epic battle. Huzzah! (Hurray!)

“The Beginning of Life. . . The Wonder of Life . . . The Value of Life . . .Eternal Life. . . Using Your Life”
Our kids had teaching and conversations about the source of created life itself, the value of their lives, that they are made in God’s image, with an amazing design and with worth, and made by Him for a purpose. His greatest desire is for each of them is to receive His gift of salvation and eternal life…outlined for us clearly in the pages of Scripture.

Who? Just over 60 kids attended this year's VBS, after having gone a whole year without VBS. Praise the Lord!! We had consistent attendance throughout the week in all age groups!
What? These kids learned songs, memorized scripture, made crafts, ate snacks, and played games all in the context of the "Mystery Island", where they heard answers to questions like.. Is there just one God?...Who is God?... What is God like?... Does God love me?... Can I know God? At Mystery Island, we uncovered the truth about our Creator God! There's a sea of confusion all around kids today about who God is and what he's like, so we tracked down the one true God and learned how amazing He is through the pages of Scripture.

The VBS missions offering, which totaled $780, was taken throughout the week to put together "care packages" for children who are part of the Family Promise ministry. Later this summer, our kids will put together these care packages which will include some small toys/activities, arts and crafts kits, and most of all...their very own Bible.
Picnic type meals were served to our volunteers and their families each night at no cost, thanks to the generous support of our church family!
Children were given an opportunity to receive Christ and make a recommitment to their faith in Him. May the Lord grow these seeds and young tender hearts towards Himself! MANY Bible verses were memorized collectively by the kids.
On August 18-20, 2020, we had two on-site sessions each day for three days. Participants were able to register for either the morning or the evening on-site sessions or could choose to participate from home and a take home packet with supplies will be provided to their family.
For those that registered for the at-home option, we used a “social distance awareness”-friendly VBS called Backyard BOLT: Towards Faith in Jesus. With minimal preparation, easy-to-follow instructions, and a video that leads you and your kids step-by-step through each of the 3 days, BOLT is designed for you to carry out with your family at home. It’s so simple!
Whether they participated during BOLT on-site or at-home, the children participated in fun games that illustrated what it means to listen to, focus on, and follow Jesus. Each day’s experience lasted about an hour and a half (two hours for on-site sessions). It was a great experience for kids of all ages!
We wanted to take this COVID-19 crisis and turn it into an outreach opportunity! We encouraged our church families as they were comfortable gathering with others, to invite their neighborhood kids, friends, and family to their houses for BOLT. We challenged our families to share the good news of Jesus with others in our community!
Much fun was had by all and we thank those that volunteered to make it happen! Praise God for an opportunity to still experience Vacation Bible School in 2020!
In Him,

Vacation Bible School was held on June 3-7, 2019. Vacation Bible School continues to be a true testimony and huge demonstration here at NL Covenant of the “body of Christ” in action as the children experienced a week of the “Incredible Race”. The kids learned songs, memorized scripture, made crafts, ate snacks, and played games all in the context of a race around the world.
Our theme…“The Incredible Race…One Family. One Race. One Savior.”…a race that began at the Garden of Eden and continues until this day. A race made up of all people from all time. The human race! As we moved from continent to continent in The Incredible Race, we made stops at various times before, at, and after the largely important Tower of Babel incident and saw how it matters greatly today! We discovered our need to yield our lives to Christ as He reaches out with His love! We had over 120 kids attend throughout the week and 70 adults and youth who helped. About half of those kids participating, are not from regularly attending families. We served about 700 meals/suppers to people throughout the week. The kids and adults raised just about $700 for the VBS mission project, which was to help provide PE equipment for the Youth Group's July 2019 mission trip to the Blackfeet Nation in Montana to share with the children they served there. Praise God for a great week!!
