Our Core Values That We Thrive and Strive in Are…
We are Bible Based: We accept the Bible as our instruction manual for living out our faith and conduct in the context of a community of believers. We are under the authority of God’s Word, the Bible. We no longer live by our own authority, but we seek to submit to the teachings of both the Old and New Testament, as the rule of our lives for faith, conduct, and community.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
We are NextGen Focused: We believe and invest heavily in children and youth ministry knowing that they are our best resource for revival and transformation for our community and world. We are deeply committed to helping the next generation to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. We have been known throughout our history, and in our community, as the church who pours into our children and youth.
Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.
We are Relationship Oriented: We are all about relationships - first with the Lord and then with each other. We believe that you can’t do life alone. As human beings created in God’s image, we were designed to live life together. We strive to make our church a place where everyone feels comfortable connecting with others and building relationships. Family is the feel we long for!
John 13:34-35 (NIV) A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
We are Worship & Prayer Centered: Our desire is to honor God in all things. We seek to exalt Him for His glory, grace, and goodness. Worship is more than a value or a service, it is a way of life. Prayer is fundamentally an act of worship and how we express our delight in God and our dependence upon Him. We are a family of faith bonded in prayer.
John 4:23-24 (NIV) Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
We are Community & Service Minded: Help happens here! We serve God through helping one another as our ministries extend beyond our walls into our community. Putting our faith into action is in our DNA. When we serve, we bless others, we are blessed, and we fulfill one of God’s purposes for our life.
Galatians 6:2 (NIV) Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

New London Evangelical Covenant Church (NLECC) is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), a growing multi-ethnic denomination of 850+ churches in the United States and Canada with ministries in 5 continents of the world. The ECC affirms these values we call affirmations:
The Centrality of the word of God: We believe that the Bible is God's Word to all people and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct.
The necessity of the new birth: We believe in the necessity of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
A conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit: We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit who calls the church into being, empowers its ministry, guides its mission, and gifts all believers to glorify God and grow Christ's Kingdom.
Christ's Church as a fellowship of believers: We believe in Christ's Church as a community of believers, characterized by a family of faith and mutual ministry to and with one another.
A commitment to the whole mission of the church: We believe in the whole mission of the Church. We follow Christ's two central calls of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.
The Reality of Freedom in Christ: We believe in a freedom in Christ that recognizes differences concerning theological issues, worship styles and sacramental practices. In Christ we live with a new freedom and greater call to unity where we embrace "in essentials...agreement; in the non-essentials...freedom; and in all things...love."
