The Monday Evening Women’s Bible study will meet on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm at JoAnn Nelson's home unless otherwise indicated. They are studying Max Lucado's "Because of Bethlehem" study which they will study until Christmas, then they will begin Max Lucado's "He Chose the Nails" study starting in the new year. If you have questions or would like to participate, please call Kathy Graham.
About the study: For some, Christmas is a time of excitement, celebration, and quality time with loved ones. For others, it's full of loneliness, grief, and loss. Join New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado as he unwraps the enduring promises of Christmas and discovers a lifetime of hope, all because of one baby born in Bethlehem. It's easy to lose sight of the remarkable story of Christmas. We forget that a king ordered a census, Joseph was forced to travel, Mary bounced on a donkey's back, the hotel was full, the hour was late, and the event was one big hassle. Yet, out of that hassle, hope was born. In Because of Bethlehem, Max invites us to look at the Christmas story from a different perspective. He reminds us that Christmas is about more than a pretty tree with presents piled up underneath it. Christmas begins what Easter celebrates: the child in the cradle who goes on to become the King on the cross. Because of Bethlehem, we have a place on earth and a Savior in heaven. |
Our Women’s Bible study meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30am in the Church library. They are studying volume 2 of Alistair Begg's "And He Shall Reign" study of Daniel 7-12.
About the study: At the heart of the book of Daniel, we don't meet a mere man, however brave, faithful, or wise. We meet God, the King of Kings, who rules over every earthly kingdom and who is committed to preserving His people through trouble and persecution. In volume 2 of this series, Alistair Begg explains that rather than being fodder for speculation, the prophetic visions recorded in Daniel are fuel for the faith of persecuted believers. Nations will rise and fall, and the enemies of God's people will increase in strength, but in all of these things, we can take heart. God will preserve and deliver His people from evil. Christ the King will destroy His enemies when He comes in glory, and He will reign forever. If you have questions or would like to participate, please contact Donna Schmitt. |
Mission Links (Quilting Group)
Mission Links meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10am. Contact Marilyn Lungstrom for more information. The Mission Links group remains busy all year long, with one month off in the summer. The aim of Mission Links is to provide for the needy and they give to many missions locally as well. Last year's (2019) recipients included: Mary’s Place in Minneapolis (SharingandCaringHands.org); Global Health Ministries in Liberia, City Life Center in Minneapolis, Eagle’s Nest in Sauk Centre, Lake Beauty Auction (July) and County Social Services. The group gets funds from the Community Closet for their supplies and much of the goods for their work comes from nice yarn, thread and material for quilts. They sell greeting cards and rugs for buying supplies also. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God...” Romans 8:28 (KJV) |

NL Covenant Women’s Titus 2 Partnerships “T2P”
The Vision: To help partner women from our church family with one another (small groups of 2-3), with the intent to model the Biblical principles put forth in Titus 2:3-5, having younger women nurtured, mentored and blessed by relationships with women who have life experience and Godly wisdom to share with them. To encourage partnerships that would model Hebrews 10:24-25 between the generations of women in our church family. These partnerships are encouraged to find frequent/common means of communications, monthly connections (lunch/coffee/prayer time) and continual source of encouragement, care and prayer. Questions? Please contact Paula Holmen. |
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:3-5 (NIV)
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
